Tour 1: Eungella Tour – Full Day – Wednesday 30th August 2017

Departing today you will travel up the Pioneer Valley to arrive at Finch Hatton Gorge to our Bush Camp the “Finch Hatton Hilton” where you will be treated to a BBQ lunch served with all the trimmings. After lunch, you will go for a walk around the area to the Auralun Falls through the largest rainforest national park in Australia.  After your walk your travels will take you up the Eungella Range to Sky Windows to take in the views of the Pioneer Valley from 2,240 ft. Then onto Platypus spotting at Broken River in the Eungella National Park.

Tour 2:  Australian Bredl’s Wildlife Safari – Full day Thursday 31st August 2017.                       $122.00 p/p net (min passengers per tour 4)

Leaving your accommodation, this day will take you on an unforgettable experience with Australian native wildlife. The Journey will take us North of Mackay to a privately owned and operated Bredl’s Wild farm.  The home of the world-renowned Bare Foot Bushman (Rob Bredl) and his Family who have worked with wildlife for three generations and now operate 175 acres of coastal lagoons and grazing land Its atmosphere can best be described as a mini Kakadu National Park.  Rob, Cherie, Dan and Zeb will entertain you throughout the day with hands on experiences with native wildlife.  Firstly, with hand feeding the most dangerous bird in the world the cassowary, to learn about Australian Snakes and what to do in case of a snake bite, holding pythons, lizards, cuddle a koala and hand feeding kangaroos.  Next, we will climb aboard the Safari mobile travel through the Farm to the big crocs where they will hand feed them only meters from where you are standing which will AMAZEand their little pet a 5 meter 1-ton salt water crocodile named “Gallopin.  From here we return to camp central for lunch and to finish up the day with holding baby crocodiles and a few other little critters.  You may even get a photo taken holding various baby animals. 

Tour 3: Special City Tour- Half Day – Monday 28 August 2017 –

Pick up from your accommodation and do a drive through the city to learn about the art deco buildings with a stop off at the Blue Water Quays to be told the history of this part of the city and then travel to the Eimeo Hotel for a light lunch and take in the views of the Coral Sea and the Islands of the lower Whitsundays which lay off the coast of Mackay.  Following lunch, we will travel to the Mackay Marina and Port before returning to your accommodation.  Full commentary will be given by the driver/guide of this tour.

Tour 4: Special Sugar Mill Tour – Half day – Tuesday 29th August 2017

Pick from your accommodation you will travel to Farleigh Sugar Mill for a tour of a working Sugar Mill on arrival morning tea will be served prior to going through the mill. After the tour of the mill you will travel to the Mackay Harbour to see the largest sugar storage facility in the world from the harbour wall.

Long sleeve shirt, long pants & covered in shoes are required for this tour we have a supply of shirts and pants at the tour desk for hire @ 0.50 cents an item if required.

Tour 5:  Breakfast with the Kangaroos – Half day Friday 1st September 2017                  $104.00 p/p net (Min passengers per tour 2)

This is an earlier start to the morning, leaving at 5am to see the Kangaroos at sunrise on Cape Hillsborough Beach.  After seeing the Kangaroos, you may like to have a cup of tea or coffee just watching the sun come up over the islands before taking a walk along the Mangrove Board Walk to hear about some aboriginal bush tucker and how the local Yuibera people lived here.  Afterwards you will travel to Halliday Bay/Ball Bay to see the curlews in their natural habitat.  Breakfast will be served at the Old Station Tea House. 

Tour 6:  Sugar Tour – Full day – Saturday 2nd September 2017

Departing your accommodation, you will travel to the north of the city through the cane field to observe a cane harvester and haul out tractors working in the fields up

close. Then it’s off to a transfer siding to see the cane bins being transferred to the rail system. This system connects all the mills in the region.

Morning tea will be served at our mill hall prior to going on the working mill tour. Then it’s off to the Farview Tavern for lunch overlooking the Farleigh Mill and the

surrounding countryside. After lunch, your journey will take you out to the Racecourse Mill for a drive tour around the cogeneration plant and Refinery with a full interpretation of both. The final part of the day is a journey out to the Mackay Harbour to see the largest sugar storage facility in the world.
