ITINERARY 

 DAY 1 – ARRIVAL DAY, MACKAY (D)

Today is the start of your holiday. On arrival at Mackay you will be met by your guide and transferred to the hotel with time to check in before our welcome dinner. 7 Night Stay, beautiful Mackay.

DAY 2 – Bredl’s Wildlife Farm

This day will take you on an unforgettable experience with Australian native wildlife.  The journey will take us North of Mackay to a privately owned and operated Bredl’s Wild Farm.  The home of the world-renowned Bare Foot Bushman (Rob Bredl) and his Family who have worked with wildlife for three generations.  You will be hand feeding a cassowary to learning about Australian snakes and what to do in case of a snake bite, holding pythons, lizards, cuddling a Koala, hand feeding kangaroos and holding baby crocodiles.

DAY 3 –Mackay City Tour (B,L,D)

We start the day with a short walk and morning tea in the Botanic Gardens before heading off to the Northern Beaches with stops at Shoal Point, Bucasia Beach, and Eimeo Beach with its breath taking views of the Coral Sea and the Islands. Lunch today will be served at The Deck at the Mackay Marina.  After lunch we will take you to the Orchid house where you will see some different types of orchids.  Before you head back to your accommodation we will take you to Lamberts Beach lookout and you might see some whales off the coast.

DAY 4 – RAINFOREST ECO SAFARI (B,D)

Today we enjoy the Platypus & Rainforest Eco Safari which takes us through the picturesque Pioneer Valley. We stop in the Eungella National Park at our private bush camp, the “The Finch Hatton Hilton”, for a true outback style BBQ Lunch. After lunch we travel to Finch Hatton Gorge for a walk in the rainforest and a swim if you wish. From here we travel through to Sky Windows to take in the breath taking views of the Pioneer Valley and then it’s onto Broken River to try and spot a Platypus in their natural habitat. Tonight is a special dinner enjoyed in Eungella National Park Rainforest by Broken River.

DAY 5 – FREE DAY (B,D)

Today is your free day to relax by the pool or continue exploring the beautiful township of Mackay. We’re sure whatever you choose you’ll have a terrific day.

 DAY 6 – CAPE HILLSBOROUGH (B,L,D)

Today we tour Cape Hillsborough National Park & The Hibiscus Coast with our first stop in the little fishing village of Seaforth to hear about the story of Newry Island and enjoy morning tea by the sea. Then it’s off to the Mangrove Board Walk to learn about the local aboriginal people and the renowned Bush Tucker Trail. We enjoy lunch today at the Old Railway Station tea rooms set among beautiful landscaped gardens. This afternoon we call into the Historic Leap Hotel and That Sapphire Place before making our way home.

 DAY 7 – SUGAR MILL, Hay Point Terminal (B,L,D)

Recognised as the Sugar Capital of Australia we start our day with a tour of the cane harvesters and rail carts before morning tea off the coach. Then we enjoy a guided tour of the Mackay Sugar Mill followed by lunch at the beautiful Farview Tavern. This afternoon it’s off to Hay Point Coal Terminal to see where the Coal is shipped out to all parts of the world.

DAY 8 – TUESDAY (B)
