DAY 1 – ARRIVAL DAY CAIRNS (D)
Today is your arrival day into Cairns. Whether you are arriving by car, bus, train or plane a warm welcome awaits you. Once we have you checked into the hotel take some time to relax, unpack and make yourself at home. Tonight we have a wonderful evening planned for you atyour welcome dinner.
DAY 2 – KURANDA SKYRAIL & SCENIC RAILWAY (B,D)
We start today by boarding Cairn’s famous Skyrail Gondola. Enjoy the spectacular views as our journey takes us to Red Peak and then Barron Falls Station before arriving in Kuranda,
‘The Village in the Rainforest’. Upon arrival at Kuranda we have free time to explore the wonderful atmosphere of the village markets. This afternoon from the top of the range we board one of Australia’s most famous railways, the Kuranda Scenic Railway for the trip down the range. Have your camera at the ready as the waterfalls, cliffs and views off the coast to the Great Barrier Reef are simply breathtaking.
DAY 3 – DAINTREE RIVER CRUISE, PALM COVE (B,D)
Departing Cairns this morning we head northward towards the lush tropical rainforest of the Daintree. On our way we pass through the picturesque tourist mecca of Palm Cove before making our way to the famous Daintree River Cruise. The diverse species of birdlife on calm waters of the Daintree River will astound you. After our cruise we make our way to the Daintree Village for our lunch stop today. While we’re here take some time to explore the local craft shops for some unique souvenirs to take home. This afternoon on our return journey we
stop at the picturesque Rex Lookout for a photo opportunity.
DAY 4 – JAQUES COFFEE PLANTATION, GALLO DAIRY (B,L,D)
Today we climb the range into the cool climate of the Atherton Tablelands. Our first stop this morning is at the renowned Jaques Coffee Plantation. With the ever growing enthusiasm
for coffee around the world, the Jaques Family decided to open up their private plantation to the world. Giving travellers, locals and coffee lovers an enchanting insight into the finer details of coffee from the tree to the cup, we take some time to enjoy a guided tour of the plantation and if you like, a tasting of the famous Jaques coffee. From here we make our way to the renowned Gallo Dairy Centre. Set against a backdrop of rolling green hills, world heritage listed rainforests and amazing waterfalls the Dairy Centre proudly supports locally grown produce such as coffee, tea, fruit, vegetables, meats, cheese and chocolate. As this is our lunch stop today you have the unique opportunity to sample some of the delicious produce when dining in the restaurant. Tonight for those guests who have booked their tickets we are off for an incredible dinner experience at the Cairns Night Zoo (booking and payment recommended at the time of booking your holiday).
DAY 5 – FREE DAY (B,D)
Today is your free day and you can spend the day relaxing by the pool or booking yourself onto one of the great optional activities available including the Green Island & Outer Barrier Reef Full Day Cruise & Lunch (optional extra, booking and payment is recommended at the time of booking your holiday)
DAY 6 – PORT DOUGLAS MARKETS, ST MARY’S CATHEDRAL (B,D)
This morning we board the coach and make our way to the iconic holiday destination of Port Douglas. On arrival we provide you with time to explore the local markets before venturing into the township. Take some time to walk down famous Macrossan Street for a light lunch and explore the beautiful St Mary’s by The Sea Cathedral. Tonight for those who have booked your tickets we are off on a Cairns Harbor Trinity Inlet Sunset Cruise (Optional Tour: booking and payment recommended at the time of booking your holiday).
DAY 7 – AUSTRALIAN SUGAR MILL MUSEUM, LAKE BARRINE CRUISE (B,D)
We start our day with a visit to the Australian Sugar Museum. Being an important resource that has shaped the lives of many Queenslanders the Sugar Museum was opened in 1977 to show case the artifacts and history of the Australian sugar industry during the pioneering days through to present day. After our tour concludes we continue our journey onto the picturesque village of Etty Bay for a delicious lunch by the seaside. This afternoon we take you to an enchanting lake, hidden in World Heritage Rainforest. Renowned for its informative wildlife cruise, we enjoy a cruise on the calm waters of an ancient crater lake and then afternoon tea at the famous Lake Barrine Tea House.
DAY 8 – DEPARTURE DAY (B)
Today is your departure day, we hope you enjoyed your holiday.
